We both grew up in the coal mining city of Lithgow, NSW, Australia - known as the "Gateway to the Central West". The convict-built road across the Blue Mountains from Sydney to Bathurst passed through nearby Hartley, resulting in pioneer families taking up permanent residence in the district. I have researched many of these Hartley and district pioneer families.

 Some of Edna's ancestors are buried in the Bowenfels Old Presbyterian Cemetery (near Lithgow), including her g-g-grandfather John COX a British soldier, and her g-grandfather William PERKINS a convict who fathered 19 children. See cemetery details.

My "Pioneers" in Australia database currently contains the names of over 208,000 individuals. Many belong to families who lived in the Central West, Hawkesbury-Nepean Districts, the Mid-North Coast region  from Taree, Port Macquarie and Bellingen in NSW.  

 I also have databases for "Royal & Noble Families" (over 60,000 names), "Descendants of HMS Bounty" (over 11,000 names) and "von Borstel Families" (over 3,500 names).
